US mother launches desperate plea for help to find Glasgow born son adopted in Scotland in 1960s By Alison Campsie Sunday, 16th January 2022

A 79-year-old mother from the United States has launched a desperate search for the son she gave up for adoption in Scotland in the 1960s and has called for more support for the “forgotten people” who were separated from their children given social attitudes of the day.

Rosamund King, originally from Glasgow but now of Rochester, New York, is trying to find her child who was born on March 26, 1963 at Bellshill Maternity Hospital.
Her son was born following a two-year relationship with Dexter Clark, a submariner who served with the US Navy at Holy Loch during the Cold War.

The pair met at a Greek restaurant in Glasgow when they were both 20.
