THE WAPI NEWS – “ROUNDUP”
CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE
It may come as no surprise to some that it is my intention to step down as WAPI Chairman at the end of this current term.
I have held the position for several years and perhaps it is now time for someone else to take on the role.
I wil be unable to attend this coming AGM and Banquet but will attend the zoom AGM meeting where I will formally tender my resignation as Chair.
I wish to remain on WAPI’s Governing Council and retain Complaints & Discipline Officer and EGroup Moderator for the Association, subject to my peers allowance.
Its been a privilege to serve as Chairman and I hope I have been of use to the Association during my terms ‘in the Chair’. WAPI has, since its inception, been the bastion of the ‘unaligned’ professional and long may it retain that stance amongst the changes the profession has to come.
I wish my successor all the best.
Tony Smith
Outgoing Chairman
REPLY TO CHAIRMAN
Dear Tony
Whilst I was aware of your upcoming step-down from the day-to-day responsibilities of chairmanship, and indeed it has been a very long tenure in office, WAPI were very fortunate to have been so carefully guided over these last 7, or is it 8 years? by so steady a hand.
I am sure that I speak for the entire GC, membership and the subscribership of our open group in expressing our thanks for your service to the association and the sector in general.
I hope that you will continue as a GC member and with your roles as both Complaints & Discipline Secretary and eGroup Moderator.
On behalf of the Membership
Respectfully
Ian (D. Withers)
