In all, William Robison faces 41 felony theft charges involving allegations that he scammed clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A private investigator accused of duping his clients pleaded not guilty to new charges on Tuesday.

Court records show that William Robison denied guilt in two Theft by Deception charges and waived his arraignment, which had been scheduled for later this month.

The latest of 41 charges came when grand jurors indicted Robison last year, though deputies did not arrest him until last week. The reason for the delay was not immediately apparent.

Court records show that William Robison, who previously pleaded not guilty to 39 other charges, denied guilt in two Theft by Deception charges and waived his arraignment, which had been scheduled for later this month.(Houston County Jail)

Following his first arrests in 2023, a Houston County judge froze Robison’s bank accounts, and investigators seized several vehicles and nearly $50,000 in cash from his home, according to court records.

On the same day as those seizures, Houston County District Attorney Russ Goodman said Robison had made several “large” bank deposits over the past 30 days and had operated without a City of Dothan business license since 2022.

Robison’s victims claimed he took their money to pay for investigative services but failed to perform the work he promised

“Bonnie,” one of his alleged victims, told News4 that she shelled out $17,000 to Robison, who did not perform the work that he promised.

Sources say that pales in comparison to others, with sources saying Robison may have bilked some out of more than $200,000.

Robison is no longer in business.
