A sad message from the WAPI Chairman and Governing Council:
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Richard Jacques-Turner, a highly respected and influential figure in the professional investigations community.
Richard made an enduring contribution to the profession, earning the respect of colleagues both in the UK and internationally. The award for excellence that bears his name is a fitting reflection of the standards, professionalism and commitment he championed throughout his career.
Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.
The Founder and Principal of Paragon Investigations International, based around Hull/East Yorkshire.
A Past President of the World Association of Detectives, 1989–1990, and Executive Director from 2000 to 2005, and subsequently its executive director and listed as President Emeritus. A World Association of Detectives profile says he had approximately 40 years’ experience as an investigator and security consultant and retired from active investigations in August 2000.
A Past President of the Association of British Investigators in 1995 and Life member.
Richard received the ABI Frank Martin Award in 1999 and the Peter Heims Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
The Richard Jacques-Turner Award for Excellence was created in his honour in 2013 for achievements in investigation,
security and education.
